Man identified in Lockport fatal crash

Niagara Gazette — New York State Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash Tuesday afternoon as James J. Silva, 60, of North Tonawanda.

State Police said Silva was driving on the Lockport Bypass/Route 93 when he reportedly veered into the path of the oncoming truck. The impact caused Silva’s small pickup truck to burst into flames, according to State Police Public Information Officer Victor Morales.

Silva was promounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said he may have been killed on impact, but Morales said it's unknown at this point. Authorities will perform an autopsy in the near future.

Also unknown is what made Silva cross the median, Morales added.

The dump truck driver was not hurt or charged.

Yes. Items should be taxed like they are everywhere else.
No, the indian reservations are sovereign land and they are selling them on their land.
Not up to me. Native Americans decide the rules on their land.
