Portage Road robbery reported

Niagara Gazette —

Niagara Falls police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at a check-cashing business in the 700 block of Portage Road.

Initial reports indicated that suspects wearing masks entered the business at just after 1 p.m. and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Officers at the scene of the alleged robbery declined comment when approached by the Niagara Gazette.

Shortly after the report of the incident, officers were observed investigating a vehicle that had been stopped in the alley off Pine Avenue between 9th and 10th streets.

The Gazette will provide additional details as they are made available.
