Niagara Gazette — A 62-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car Sunday morning at the intersection of Main and East Hill streets in the City of Tonawanda.

Stephen J. Zielski, 62, of Grove Street, was riding his bicycle at 7:10 a.m when the bike and car collided.

"We are still investigating, but it appears the bicyclist cut in front of the vehicle," Lt. Fredric Foels said. "It was dark out and the bicyclist was wearing dark clothes."

Both Zielski and the vehicle, driven by William M. Ginnick were traveling north on Main Street.

Ginnick resides on Chipman Place in North Tonawanda.

Zielski was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he listed in critical condition in the trauma intensive care unit.
