9-year-old girl, mother attacked by dog in Wilson

A 9-year-old girl suffered bite wounds to her nose and her mother was bitten on her hand after the girl was attacked by a black Labrador/great Dane mixed-breed dog Thursday morning on Pettit Street.

The mother told sheriff's deputies the dog's owner brought the dog to the home about 11 a.m. because she had sold it to him last year when it was a puppy. While in the home, the 9-year-old was standing near the dog when it attacked her, biting her on the nose. When the mother moved in to help, the dog bit her hand.

An ambulance crew was on the scene attending the girl when deputies arrived and both the girl and her mother were taken to an area hospital for further treatment.

The dog's owner said the animal was up to date on its shots and he had no idea why it attacked the girl.

A deputy said the Niagara County Department of Health would be notified.

Do you think cigarette sales to non-Native American customers should be taxed on reservations?

Yes. Items should be taxed like they are everywhere else.
No, the indian reservations are sovereign land and they are selling them on their land.
Not up to me. Native Americans decide the rules on their land.
Don't care. Smoking isn't good for you.
