Man fleeing traffic stop leaves behind ID

New York State Police said a 24-year-old Niagara Falls man who ran from a traffic stop turned himself in on Wednesday.

Troopers said they spotted a car on Packard Road with out-of-state plates make an illegal turn. When they conducted a traffic stop, Anthony J. Printup stopped the car and fled the vehicle.

A check of the plates determined they did not belong to the car, which was unregistered and uninsured. A check of the area turned up identification for Printup.

He was contacted through family and later turned himself in. He was charged with several vehicle and traffic violations including: Unlicensed operator, improper plates, uninsured vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device. Printup was also charged with resisting arrest.
