Niagara Gazette — Local officials gathered Thursday to celebrate the opening of a new would care facility in Niagara Falls.
U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Niagara Falls, medical center CEO Joe Ruffolo, members of the hospital's board and others were on hand for the event marking the official opening of The Wound Center of Niagara, which is located at 620 10th St., Suite 700, directly across the street from the medical center itself.
The wound care center was developed by the hospital and RestorixHealth, one of the nation’s leaders in comprehensive wound care and wound management programs. It will specialize in the treatment of chronic or problem wounds that are often associated with medical conditions such as diabetes, poor circulation and certain types of infection.
The Wound Center of Niagara provides comprehensive wound treatment, including the use of hyperbaric oxygen chambers to provide pressurized oxygen that stimulates tissues and helps wounds heal more quickly.
Its multidisciplinary team of physicians specializes in the underlying conditions that can cause problem wounds. Those physician specialties include vascular, cardiothoracic and general surgery, internal medicine, infectious disease and podiatry.
