Falls woman dies following early Saturday morning shooting

A 39-year-old Niagara Falls woman is dead following an early Saturday morning shooting on North Avenue.

Falls police were called to an apartment on North Avenue about 3:30 a.m. for a shooting and found the Falls woman suffering from two gunshot wounds.

Richard Moore, 50, and Cammesoa Williams, 42, both of Winston-Salem, N.C. were arrested at the scene.

Moore and Williams were in town for a wedding and met the victim through a friend. An argument and  physical fight ensued between the victim, Williams and a third woman in the apartment.

Moore then shot the victim in the abdomen and he and Williams left the scene momentarily in their rental car. Moore and Williams then returned to the scene and Williams shot the victim as well, this time in her buttocks, with the same handgun.

NFPD officers arrived and took both suspects into custody without incident. The victim was taken to ECMC for treatment but later died of her wounds.

The victim's identity is not being released pending the notification of family members.
