Suspicious package at airbase being investigated

Staff Reports

— The 914th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office has released a statement about the suspicious package at the airbase:

“Today at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Niagara Falls air base received a suspicious package prompting base officials to initiate standard emergency protocols to secure personnel and property on the installation.

The package in question was received on base via civilian mail carrier and had no return address. No other details concerning the package are available at this time.

Federal and state law enforcement has been called in to help determine the nature of the package.

Local emergency response crews are also present as a mutual aid agreement exists between the air base and the local community for mutual support either off base or on in the event of an emergency.”
