Niagara Gazette — Leaks in the city system are keeping crews from the Niagara Falls Water Board busy amid frigid temperatures this week.

In a release issued by the board Tuesday, water board officials said crews are attempting to address water main leaks in eight locations throughout the city

Officials said service crews have been working through the weekend and the water board will continue to deploy all available manpower to repair leaks as quickly as possible and minimize their potential impact. The repairs are expected to occur throughout the week.

Leaks being addressed are in the following areas: 510 20th St.; 1658 South Ave.; 1522 Hyde Park Blvd.; 2026 Virginia Ave.; 484 24th St.; 2909 Grand Ave.; 2327 14th St. and 3252 Ontario Ave.

As a result of the watermain repair work, officials said customers may experience low water pressure and/or discoloration. If discoloration occurs, customers should run the cold water tap from the lowest point in their residence or business for three minutes or until clear. Water quality will not be adversely impacted during these repairs and is entirely safe for consumption.

For more information or questions, customers should call the NFWB at 283-9770 ext. 201 or ext. 0 after regular business hours.
