Poll: Cuomo dips to lowest job performance rating

A new poll shows Gov. Andrew Cuomo has slid to his lowest job-approval rating since becoming governor.

The Siena College poll released Monday reports Cuomo's rating is at the point most voters view his performance negatively.

It shows 56 percent of those polled rate the Democrat's job performance as only fair or poor. That's up from 47 percent a month ago.

Still, Cuomo's overall favorability among voters remains high at 61 percent. That reflects their view of Cuomo himself.

Cuomo would also trounce potential Republican challengers at this point as he prepares to campaign for re-election next year.

The poll of 806 voters was conducted last Monday through Thursday. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
