BLOTTER: Police reports published Dec. 23

Staff Reports
Niagara Gazette

Niagara Falls

• INCIDENT: Police are investigating a report that a man serving a subpoena for a Falls attorney drew a gun on another man. A 49-year-old man told officers that the suspect came to his home in the 1600 block of Falls Street at 12:30 p.m. Monday and demanded to see a woman. When the man told the suspect he had the wrong address, the server reportedly called the victim a “tough guy” and drew a semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the man. The suspect then “threw” a subpoena at the victim and left.

• ARRESTS: Two men were arrested after a traffic stop on Monday. Police said they stopped a 1999 Lexus in the 300 block of 75th Street at 4:35 p.m. Monday because the windows on the vehicle were completely tinted black. Jeffrey DeGolier, 20, 1665 Swan Road, Lewiston, the driver of the car, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and illegal window tint. James Geswender, 26, 472 20th St., a passenger in the car, was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft from the 6100 block of Kies Avenue. A 53-year-old man told officers that sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Monday someone took a snowblower from his yard.

• THEFT: Officers are looking into a theft from the 400 block of 20th Street. A 47-year-old man told police that sometime between midnight and 7:17 a.m. Monday someone took a snowblower from his yard.

• BURGLARY: An employee of Gambino Ford on South Transit Road reported Sunday that overnight someone broke into the sales building and stole $500 in cash. Damage to the dead bolt was estimated at $50, the report said.

City of Lockport

• DISORDERLY: John M. Peace, 39, 20 Robinson Place, was charged Saturday night with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct. Officers responded to Pine Street for a 911 hang-up and reportedly saw Peace walking north on Pine Street with clenched fists, apparently upset. Peace allegedly made an obscene gesture toward an officer and began to walk away. The officer stopped Peace, and when Peace was told he was under arrest he allegedly refused to place his hands behind his back. Peace reportedly appeared to be intoxicated. He was held in lieu of $500 bail.

• ID THEFT: Mark F. Sewar, 52, 4 Tudor Lane, Apt. 6, was charged Monday morning with third-degree identity theft. A Tudor Lane man told police Sewar used his credit card Nov. 8 without permission. Sewar allegedly made $175 in purchases. Sewar, a door-to-door salesman, allegedly obtained the man’s AAA Visa card number from a satellite TV application while making a sale on April 28.. He was held in lieu of $250 bail.

Newfane

• LARCENY: An East Avenue woman reported Monday that sometime since Dec. 10, someone stole several Christmas presents from the back of her van. The items, including toys, were worth about $393, the report said. The items were unwrapped in plastic bags.

• INJURY: A Corwin Station woman reported Saturday that her juvenile son was staying overnight at a friend’s house on Lockport-Olcott Road Friday night. The boy said he and his friend were playing in the basement with a BB gun with rubber bullets when he was accidentally struck by a bullet above his left eye. The boy’s friend told deputies he thought the gun was empty. The boy was evaluated at Inter-Community Memorial Hospital, the report said.
