LOCKPORT: Cops search for missing woman
Police ‘very concerned’ about woman’s safety, seeking tips

City police are looking for a woman wanted on a felony charge who has been missing since Wednesday.
Family members say Bethany A. Flach, 22, of 701 Gardenwood Drive in the Woodlands, has not been seen since Wednesday.
Flach, a mother of three, was reported missing Friday, and officers believe she may be in danger.
“She just disappeared,” Officer Paul Beakman said. “This is extremely unusual.”
A family member told police Flach’s disappearance is strange because she normally “is the type to shower three times a day and change her clothes five times,” the report said.
The family member said it is also unusual for Flach not to be around for her children.
Flach took her live-in boyfriend’s truck to a self-help group meeting and her boyfriend said he found his truck there, but Flach was nowhere to be found, the report said.
Police are “very concerned” about Flach’s well-being, Beakman said.
The missing persons case is also being investigated by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department, the report said.
Flach failed to appear in Lockport City Court on Friday, triggering a bench warrant in her name.
She was charged June 17 with fourth-degree grand larceny in the Town of Hartland.
Flach was charged with stealing a Cornerstone Community Federal Credit Union ATM card from a Ridge Road woman. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The case was transferred to Lockport City Court through the treatment court program, Beakman said.
Anyone with information about Flach’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lockport Police Department at 433-7700.
“We will follow every lead,” Beakman said. “We’re very worried about her.”
