The LaSalle Business and Professional Association’s annual awards dinner will be held Wednesday at Antonio's Restaurant and Banquet Center, 7708 Niagara Falls Blvd.
State Sen. Antoine Thompson is being honored as the Business Person of the Year for his dedication to the city of Niagara Falls. His recent Senior Citizen Breakfast hosted nearly 800 area seniors who were able to enjoy a free breakfast and voice their concerns.
He helps sponsor the annual Clean Sweep, local grants and supports programs to foster business development and retention in the city, as well as sponsoring grants to promote crime prevention and safety.
The Business of the Year Award is presented to Chris Castellani, owner of Supermarket Liquors in the Mil-Pine Plaza. Castellani has owned and operated this business in LaSalle for the past 24 years. Throughout the years he has been a generous donor to dozens of charities, numerous fundraisers, religious groups and helped sponsor many local sports teams. He continues to carry out a philosophy of helping out in his community, which was instilled by wonderful and giving parents. Castellani resides in Lewiston with his wife and son.
According to LBPA President Lisa Routhier, “there will be a mini-basket auction, 50/50 Split Club Raffle as well as recognition awards honoring special efforts by some of our citizens. We plan to highlight the accomplishments of the past year also.”
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with networking and cocktails and finger foods. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The cost to attend is $35 per person and advance reservations are required.
To make a reservation, contact Lisa Routhier 236-0051 or Anne Sawicki, LBPA vice-president at 283-3338. Reservations are needed by today.
