• ASSAULT: Deputies responded to Niagara Falls Boulevard and Witmer Road about 1:05 a.m. Friday for a report of a fight. When they arrived, a Niagara Falls man was walking out of the woods at the corner, dressed only in a pair of shorts, with minor cuts and bruises on his arms, legs and head. The man said he had been at a nearby house with a woman when a group of men arrived and attacked him. Deputies went to the house, where the woman told them she was there with the man when her boyfriend came into the house with several men she didn’t know and started the fight. After the man ran from the house, the woman’s boyfriend and the group left, she said. The back window of the man’s Jeep, which was parked in the driveway, had been smashed, causing $250 in damages, the report said. The man was treated on the scene and then transported by Tri-Community Ambulance to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital.

• DWI: David Uri MacLeod, 33, 760 Park Place, Niagara Falls, was charged early Friday with driving while intoxicated, failure to use a designated lane and unsafe movement of a stopped motor vehicle after a 12:01 a.m. traffic stop on Lockport Road. Deputies said MacLeod was spinning his tires and crossing the fog line as he pulled away from the intersection of Lockport and Walmore roads. MacLeod admitted to drinking three beers and failed several field sobriety tests and registered a 0.13 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test, the report said. He was held in lieu of $250 bail.

• NEIGHBOR PROBLEM: A Niagara Road man told deputies he was concerned that his neighbor had been acting strangely for several days. The man said his neighbor had been on his property cutting shrubs he claims were his. He said the neighbor told him his religious beliefs allowed him to cut the plants.

Town of Lockport

• LARCENY: A Salt Road, Clarence woman reported Thursday that while her Jeep was parked outside Flips Gymnastics on South Transit Road someone smashed the passenger-side front window and stole a Tommy Hilfiger bag containing her debit card and bills. The bag is worth about $30, and damage to the window is estimated at $150. The suspects also stole two McDonald’s Happy Meals from the front seat, the report said.

Newfane

• BURGLARY: An employee of Stedman’s Nursery on Main Street reported Wednesday that overnight someone broke a window on the garden center, entered the office and stole about $200 from a filing cabinet. Damage to the window was estimated at $80. A box containing candy and chips for sale had been gone through, and deputies found several candy wrappers, which were collected as evidence, the report said.
