Niagara County Sheriffs deputies responded to house of Town Supervisor Timothy Demler for the report of a missing wedding band and legal papers Sunday afternoon.
Timothy Demler, who is legally separated from his wife, Tammy Lee Demler, got a call from his parents who said that his estranged wife was in the residence. According to the report, the Mapleton Road home is marital property, but no one is to remove anything from the house. The couple is in the process of getting a divorce.
Timothy stated he returned home and went through his belongings. He reported some legal paperwork regarding the divorce, personal business paperwork and a gold wedding band were missing.
The legal paperwork was kept in his downstairs office and the personal business paperwork was kept upstairs in the bedroom. The gold wedding band, valued at $400, was kept in a dresser drawer in the bedroom.
Tammy Lee said she went to the residence to get some of her personal paperwork and a yearbook and that she only removed her property.
She said she did not take his gold wedding band.
Timothy stated he would speak to a Town of Wheatfield justice about filing a criminal charge.
