• DWI: David H. Waterfield, 51, South Carolina, was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, consumption of alcohol in a vehicle, no seat belt, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and second-degree criminal impersonation on Tuesday, according to Falls police. Stopped at 70th Street and Niagara Falls Boulevard because he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, police discovered an open can of LaBatt’s Blue in Waterfield’s car. After failing field sobriety tests, he registered a .048 percent blood alcohol content in a breath test. Officers also found a Darvocet pill on Westfield.
• THEFT: A 39-year-old Augustus Place resident told police that sometime between 12:30 and 2:45 p.m. Tuesday someone entered the home through an unlocked front door and took a PlayStation2 and eight games valued at $800.
• THEFT: A 44-year-old Frontier Avenue resident reported that sometime Monday night someone broke into a locked garage, pushed two ATVs outside and stole a $1,000 ATV snowplow. Police later stopped a car on 85th Street that had a similar plow in the trunk. The car’s occupants told police they had found it on 91st or 92nd streets. The matter is under investigation.

• LARCENY: A student at Niagara-Wheatfield High School on Saunders Settlement Road reported April 9 that someone stole $16 in cash, a pair of silver and gray Nike shoes and a silver iPod Nano from a locker in the junior varsity locker room. The items are worth $266. Another student reported the same day that her LG cell phone, worth $200, was stolen from her purse when she was in gym.
City of Lockport
• HARASSMENT: Jerome H. Young Jr., 59 Independence Drive, Apt. 1, was charged Monday afternoon with third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. An Independence Drive woman told police she argued with Young, her ex-boyfriend. During the argument, Young allegedly threw items around the bedroom and at the woman, who said she fled downstairs to the kitchen area. Young allegedly followed the woman downstairs, yelling and screaming, and grabbed her and threw her to the floor. As the woman was falling, she reportedly hit an iron kitchen rack on the counter. Young was held without bail and is due today in Lockport City Court.
• VANDALISM: Antoine A. Ewing, 35, 114 West Ave., Apt. 2, was charged Monday evening with third-degree criminal mischief. Ewing allegedly threw a rock at a car on Genesee Street on Saturday, causing $1,000 in damages. The victim reportedly identified Ewing out of a photo array. Ewing is due today in Lockport City Court.
• DRUGS: Mitchell L. Whelan, 17, 11 Treehaven Drive, was charged Monday night with unlawful possession of marijuana. Officers on patrol stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Railyard Skate Park on Corinthia Street. As they approached the car, officers could smell marijuana, the report said. The car's occupants denied having marijuana, but a check of the area yielded a brown cigar containing marijuana under the passenger side door. Whelan, a passenger, allegedly admitted the marijuana was his. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due April 22 in Lockport City Court.

• BURGLARY: A Dale Road woman reported Monday that her son went out to the shed to get his bike and found the bike was missing and a door on the shed was damaged. The woman said she hadn’t been in the shed since December. Another bike was missing, as well as two chainsaws. The stolen items are worth $751. Someone had also damaged four windows on a sauna house in the back of the property. Damage was estimated at $600.
• BURGLARY: An Orchard Street woman reported Friday that someone entered her home through a kitchen window and stole two bottles of prescription pills from her bedroom. A total of 210 hydrocodone and oxycontin pills were stolen, the report said.
