BLOTTER: Police reports published April 14
Niagara Gazette
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls Police and the Niagara County Health Department are investigating how almost two dozen urine samples, bound for a Cheektowaga lab ended up behind a Portage Road supermarket.
City firefighters said they were approached by the market manager at 11:17 a.m. Friday, after he found 20 labeled and sealed bottles of human urine behind his store. Firefighters secured the bottles in bio-hazard bags and then turned them over to police.
Officers took the bottles to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where they found a shipping label that showed the samples were from the office of Dr. A. Hakeem Syed, MD, at Lakeshore Behavioral Health and were being transported to MedLab, at 600 Cayuga Road, Cheektowaga. The label also indicated the samples were taken on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Niagara County Health Department is now trying to determine who was transporting the urine and how it ended up behind the supermarket.

- PETIT LARCENY: Peter C. Suide IV, 38, 127 Water St., was charged Friday morning with petit larceny. Suide allegedly stole a woman's cell phone on Thursday at her South Street home. The phone is valued at $187, the report said. Suide reportedly turned himself in Friday morning.
- RESISTING: Hilary E. Falls, 21, 98 Washington St., Apt 2, was charged Thursday evening with resisting arrest. Officers reportedly saw Falls, who had an active bench warrant out for her, standing on the corner of Church and Ontario streets. When officers tried to arrest Falls, she reportedly said, "I'm not under arrest. I didn't do anything," and placed her hands in her pockets to prevent them from being cuffed. Officers had to physically put Falls on her stomach and pull her arms back in order to cuff her, the report said. She is being held in lieu of $250 bail and is due Monday in Lockport City Court.
Town of Lockport
- HARASSMENT: Samuel A. Figueroa, 24, 1269 Norwood Drive, was charged Thursday night with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Figueroa was wanted on an arrest warrant stemming from a domestic incident Wednesday with a Lincoln Place woman. Deputies responded to the woman's apartment Thursday night after she reported he was in the hallway. Figueroa allegedly struggled with deputies as they tried to arrest him. Lockport police arrived on scene and used pepper spray to subdue Figueroa, the report said. He is being held in lieu of $1,000 bail and is due May 10 in Lockport Town Court.
Hartland
- ATV THEFT: A Hartland Road man reported Thursday evening that someone stole a 2002 Kawasaki 4-wheeler from his driveway. The vehicle is worth about $5,500, the report said.
