BUFFALO

Wrong-way crash on Thruway injures three

Police say drunken driving led to a wrong-way crash that briefly shut down a section of the Thruway in Buffalo.

Authorities say 30-year-old Andrew Decker of Tonawanda was driving south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 190 around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and collided with another vehicle driven by 51-year-old Arob Alor of Buffalo.

State Police Capt. Michael Nigrelli says Decker and Alor are in fair condition and Alor’s passenger, 46-year-old Akuor Amanya, was expected to undergo surgery.

State police have charged Decker with driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession, reckless endangerment, vehicular assault and numerous traffic offenses. He’s due in Buffalo city court Jan. 15.

Police say they don’t know if Decker has a lawyer.

TOWN OF LOCKPORT

Man accused of breaking into car wash

A Town of Lockport man was charged Tuesday with three felonies after he burglarized a car wash on Robinson Road.

Donald C. Williamson, 19, of Willowbend Drive, was charged Tuesday with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and tampering with physical evidence. Williamson was also charged with possession of burglar’s tools, a misdemeanor.

State troopers say Williamson broke into the Power Wash Car Wash on Robinson Road and tried to remove the change machine from the building.

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A man who is scheduled to be sentenced today on possession charges in Niagara County Court was charged Wednesday by Niagara Falls police for unlawful possession of marijuana. Antoine R. Bones, 23 711 Augustus Place, was issued another court appearance ticket after officers responded to a domestic violence call at 10:46 a.m. in the 2200 block of Willow Avenue. Bones was inside a car with a woman and during an inspection, officers found a bag containing 7.5 grams of marijuana in his front pocket.

• INVESTIGATION: A worker at Rite-Aid, 8015 Niagara Falls Blvd., filed a report with police Wednesday and said he was approached by three representatives from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union while he was at work in a stock room. He said they tried to pressure him into a meeting after work and he is afraid they are trying to harm him because he has filed a petition with the state labor department on behalf of his co-workers to have the union removed.

• MENACING: A man told police another man pulled out a knife and threatened to stab him during an argument about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The victim started to leave the area but the other man unleashed his pit bull on him. The victim told police he managed to get inside his house before the dog attacked him.

• FRAUD: A Niagara Falls man wants to pursue criminal charges against his son, who used his credit card without his permission between March and September to obtain cash advances of nearly $3,000. The victim filed a police report Wednesday after noticing the discrepancies on a recent bank statement.

Wheatfield

• BURGLARY: An employee at Elderwood at Crestwood on Crestwood Court reported Monday that two TVs were stolen from the lounge area of the facility. The TVs are worth about $850. It appears someone broke a window to enter the facility. A resident told deputies she saw a man she didn’t recognize inside the facility about 7 p.m. Monday. The resident said she told the man, “You must have had a key to get in here,” and he did not respond to her. Another residents reported seeing a similar man. Damage to the window was estimated at $75.

City of Lockport

• BURGLARY: Raymond P. Boskat, 35, 168 Gooding St., upper, was charged Wednesday afternoon with second-degree burglary and petit larceny. Boskat allegedly entered a Corinthia Street home through a window and removed a note that was written by his wife to the resident. Boskat’s wife reported the incident to police, and when officers called Boskat, he allegedly hung up on them.

Newfane

• LARCENY: A Prospect Street man reported Monday that on Dec. 16, a friend of his son visited the house. After the friend left, the man discovered two of his digital cameras were missing. The cameras, a Kodak EasyShare and a Yashica digital camera, are worth about $614, the report said.
