Driver in hit-and-run incident found by Lewiston police

Niagara Gazette — An unidentified elderly man was ticketed Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run accident involving a Modern Disposal worker on Monday morning.

The Lewiston Police Department had issued an alert, seeking information about a silver or gray Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis that was traveling eastbound in the 1700 block of Ridge Road around 9 a.m., Monday, when it struck a refuse worker on the roadside.

According to police, the vehicle was supposedly missing its passenger side mirror.

The male refuse worker who was struck during the incident was sent to Mount St. Mary's for an apparent minor injury to his arm, police said.

Lewiston police noted that the elderly driver was located as a result of a posting on Facebook.
