Lewiston Supervisor Steve Reiter is "doing great," according to his deputy.
Gary Catlin, who is handling day-to-day responsibilities at Lewiston Town Hall in Reiter's absence, said he hasn't spoken to Reiter directly since his surgery Friday, but that family members informed him the town's chief executive is recovering.
He said Reiter could be released from Buffalo General Hospital, where he's been since July 2, as early as the end of this week. In the meantime, Catlin said he's getting by with the help of the employees running town hall.
"I've done this before when Steve's gone on vacation," he said. "There's good people working for the town, so we all know what we're doing."
