LETTERS: Not sold on Obama’s plan

Barack Obama has done it again. He successfully took bad policies and sold them with golden words. In a June speech in Flint, Mich., he warned against an economy where big, mean corporations take all the money and don’t care about the less fortunate.

LETTERS: India tourist Increase to Niagara

In response to the article by Don Glynn, I believe the true answer here is the modesty of John Percy of the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. Knowing Percy and the thought process behind his ideas to increase tourism in Niagara is a part of why Percy has personally traveled to India to promote Niagara and its attraction to the people of India and its Department of Tourism.

LETTERS: The three bears and the bear

Most of us know the story of the three (papa, momma and the baby) bears. Goldilocks journeyed to the bears’ home, ate their porridge, sat in their chairs and slept in their beds. When she awoke, she saw the bears and decided to run away, never to return again.

LETTER: What the Declaration of Independence should mean to Americans

Have you contemplated why this land was transformed so quickly? In less than 200 years, we were remade from 18th century barren wildernesses with nomadic Indians to the most powerful, benevolent country in the world.

I would like to take this opportunity to say many thanks to Helton Briggs of the Niagara Gazette for his quick thinking and action when I collapsed at his desk. He may have saved my life. At the very least, he helped to prevent complications.

I wish to respond to the curious rants and accusations of Frank M. Wasko of Lewiston published in the Gazette’s Reader’s Views on June 4.

My family and I cannot begin to thank Niagara Hospice for the care and help they gave my daughter Heidi. The names of all the nurses and aides are way too numerous to mention. You all know who you are, but each and everyone of you will always remain in our thoughts and in our hearts each and everyday.

LETTERS: Send the kids to Camp Kenan!

Are you tired of seeing your kids sitting on the couch glued to the TV? Or slumped in a chair in front of the computer? Or looking for other kids to play with, but there aren’t any around. Or eating more and exercising less, not being as healthy and active as they could be?

LETTERS: Quieter, but not better

I live in the Hyde Park neighborhood, and I am trying to understand the logic of neighbors of the Jet Boats and that of the Jet Boat Co. in Lewiston. On May 28 at the Village of Lewiston town meeting, a Jet Boat manager explained that the boats are now more “neighbor friendly” because the loud megaphones were replaced with quieter, wireless personal speakers for onboard communication.

Your editorial about Lew-Port’s school board elections was interesting but wrong. I got several slingers in my mailbox over several days before the election.

LETTERS: Falls students need to get off the bus

I have been reading with great interest the latest stories involving Niagara Falls Coach Lines buses having failed inspections. These buses are responsible for transporting our children to and from school each day, yet when their inspection came up, Coach Lines said the five buses scheduled “were not ready.” Not ready to be safety inspected! That alone should scare every parent out there!
