LETTERS: Read the issues before you vote

Niagara Gazette

Read the issues before you vote

Once again, I’m amazed at the stupidity of the public. Listen to this and see if these are good reasons to vote for a candidate. I’m a Democrat, so I only vote for Democrats. I’m a Republican, and I only vote Republicans. I’m voting for Sen. Barrack Obama because he’s black. I’m voting for Sen. John McCain because he’s not black. I’m voting for either one because he’s the lesser of the two evils. And the best reason yet is: I’m voting for McCain because Sarah Palin is hot.

If you’ve given any of these reasons, you have no right to be in the voting booth in November. You forfeit your right based on stupidity. There should be a quiz on the issues before anyone is allowed to vote. People that have no idea about the elected officials are the reason this country is in a financial disaster. Thank you for burdening us with another $700-billion deficit.

You can make your own judgment after reading but I urge everyone to read what Congressman Ron Paul says about this bailout. I could not vote for anyone that thinks we should give the international bankers $700 billion. Let them fail. They gambled and lost their money, now they’re asking us to reimburse them. If you lose a bet at the casino, should the government give you that money back? The country won’t fail if foreign investors lose their money, but President George Bush and all his buddies would save face if we pass this. It’s a guarantee from the taxpayers that China, Japan and anyone else that invested should get their money back if they lose it.

There are alternatives to voting Democrat (which I am) or Republican, and some of those are the better choice than McBama. If you care for your country, check out either Chuck Baldwin or Bob Barr. They believe in the U.S. Constitution which neither Obama nor McCain mention because they’re both bought by Corporate America. I could teach a monkey to pull a lever, but that isn’t voting. Reading the issues and making the best decision is.

Do you want more years of the same Democrats and Republicans, or do you want a real change? People that will really fight for your freedom under the Constitution.

After reading his stance on the country, I am voting for Baldwin. He promises to get us out of NAFTA, NATO, the UN and all of the other sinister organizations and restore America to Americans.

Lay off the kids

I’m writing in regard to a letter I read Sept. 24 about Cayuga Village. I have never had a problem with kids, and I have lived here for 16 years. As for Carol Hall. She is the best manager this park has ever had and Joe Weber always listens and takes care of any problems.

The worst that has happened is kids’ cutting through my yard — if that’s a problem? My grass looks good and the kids are always respectful. If find that if you talk to them and not yell, they listen. They leave their bikes in my hard and also return to pick them up. I have never had anything stolen or broken. So what if they cut through your yard? I’m 75 years old. It doesn’t bother me even a little. I keep in mind that I also was a kid. Treat them with respect, and they will return in kind.
