• Compu-Mail, the direct marketing and printing company on Grand Island, was recognized at the 2013 Premier Print Award for outstanding achievement in the production of digital printing.
Company officials say the Premier Print Awards is the graphic arts industry’s largest and most prestigious worldwide printing competition and recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of outstanding print communications. After examining thousands of entries from printing and graphic arts firms around the world, the judges honored Compu-Mail’s technical excellence in digital printing.
• Jeff Paterson of Niagara Falls recently won two gold awards and a platinum “best of show” in the Public Relations Society of America Buffalo Niagara Chapter Excalibur Awards program. Paterson is executive director of Community Music School of Buffalo.
Paterson won a gold award in the interactive communications category, and best of show in the project division, for the redesign of Community Music School’s website. He also won a gold award in the special events and observances category for the music school’s 88 Keys fundraising event, held in October 2012. He has won 57 Excalibur Awards since 1998.
• A newly renovated Summit Pediatrics was recently re-dedicated to the memory of Dr. Lester Schiff, during an open house celebration at the 6937 Williams Road facility.
Schiff was the founding father of Niagara Pediatrics which evolved into Summit Pediatrics and included Dr. Maria Crea and Dr. Roger Kushner, The present doctors in the group are Dr. Tej Kaul, Dr. Robert Gadawski, Dr. Ayman Farghaly, Dr. Jerome Ulatowski, Dr. Mary Jo McDonell and Dr. Robertus Salis. Summit Pediatrics also has offices at 5320 Military Road in Lewiston and at 909 Pine Ave.
• Owners of the Wilson Lakeside Market at 337 Lake St. in Wilson, have completed a full store remodeling. Colleen and Jim Bowman, who have owned the store for 7 years, held a grand opening the month of July to celebrate the changes including: an additional 700 items, enlarged sections for produce, frozen foods, deli and bakery, as well as new flooring and shelving.
