• CHARGED: Dwayne T. Wright, 49, 750 Revere Ave., North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI and failure to use a designated lane about 4 a.m. Friday, according to Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies. Another driver called police to report that Wright was driving erratically on Williams Road. A deputy caught up to him in a parking lot off of Porter Road, near Niagara Falls International Airport, but Wright tried to flee when the deputy turned on his domed lights. Wright exited the parking lot and drove at a very slow rate of speed along the shoulder of Porter Road before stopping after about 150 feet. The deputy said he could smell alcohol when he approached the car and Wright was unable to stand up and walk without assistance. When asked if he would submit to a chemical blood test, the deputy said Wright responded, “Why would I do that?” He was charged and brought to Niagara County Jail on $250 police bail.
