BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 9

Niagara Falls

• THEFT: Police are investigating the theft of eight firearms from a home in the 200 block of 72nd Street. A 53-year-old man told officers that sometime between Jan. 1 and 8:16 p.m. Monday someone took four shotguns, three rifles and a muzzle-loader that he was storing in an unsecured bedroom closet. There was no sign of forced entry into the home.

 
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 2200 block of LaSalle Avenue. A 64-year-old man told police that sometime between Jan. 1 and 11 a.m. Monday someone broke into his home and garage by unknown means. The victim said a dryer, two box springs, a mattress and four buckets of hand and power tools were taken from a basement storage room in the home. The man also told police a snowblower, two antique dressers, two storm doors, two electric panels, a shower enclosure, a stove, a refrigerator, two new furnaces, two used furnaces, a large number of metal handrails, and three plastic buckets containing and and power tools were taken from the garage.
