NIAGARA FALLS — A 23-year-old Falls man was arrested Tuesday night after a tenant in his 22nd Street apartment complex told police he threatened her with a shotgun.

The tenant said earlier in the day she had had a conversation with her landlord, Romeo J. Scrivano, 23, of the 700 block of 22nd Street about her music being too loud and it was decided she had to turn it down by 10 p.m.

About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the tenant said she received a text message instructing her to turn down her music. She said she called Scrivano and an argument ensued. She then heard him coming downstairs from his apartment and went out in the hall to meet him — and found Scrivano standing on the landing pointing a shotgun at her. She said he told her, “I'm gonna kill you right here.”

The woman told police she was fearful for her well-being but did argue with Scrivano about pointing the gun at her. She then went back into her apartment and called police.

Officers said when Scrivano was taken into custody, he stated, “I can't defend myself in my own house?”

Police removed the shotgun and two other rifles from Scrivano's apartment. He was charged with second-degree menacing.
