Driver charged with DWI after Boulevard accident

A pair of drivers were hospitalized late Friday after a collision in the 8600 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard.

Police crash management team said Michael Kirker, 38, was driving a 2001 Buick when he struck a Dodge Neon, driven by an unidentified 38-year-old man, at approximately 11:10 p.m. Friday.

Police say the unidentified driver of the Dodge was waiting to turn left in the center area of the street when the accident occurred.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of head injuries. Currently, there's no update to his condition.

Kirker was taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston for minor injuries. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. Police said more charges may be pending as a result of its investigation.
