A North Tonawanda man was charged with trespassing after a Wheatfield Pendleton Townline Road man caught him on his neighbor's property early Sunday morning.
The resident said he was coming home from a wedding about 12:15 a.m. and noticed a man standing by an unfamiliar vehicle in his neighbor's driveway. He told his wife to walk in the house and closed the garage door while sitting in the car.
When the man saw the suspect walk back to his neighbor's shed he jumped out of the care and confronted the man, holding him till deputies arrived.
The suspect was identified as Ryan P. Koehler, 19, 3695 Culpepper Road, North Tonawanda. He told deputies he was waiting to meet a friend at the home, despite the fact that he didn't know anyone at the home.
Deputies found a mason jar containing marijuana in the center console of his vehicle and a debit card belonging to a woman inside his wallet. Koehler said he knew the woman but couldn't explain why he had her debit card. Deputies were unable to contact the woman early Sunday morning.
Koehler was charged with trespass and possession of marijuana. An investigation is continuing.
