Falls man reports he was shot, doctors disagree

Police are investigating a reported assault with a weapon between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Friday at a house party in the 2200 block of Linwood Avenue.

The victim, an 18-year-old Falls man, said he was at the party when an unknown man approached him. He said they argued, fought and he heard a gunshot. He said he felt pain in his left hand and saw blood.

He left the party and walked to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Doctors reportedly told police there was no evidence of a gunshot wound, though, as x-rays showed no bullet fragments and his injury was consistent with a cut hand.
