Deputy quickly solves case of the missing snowmen in Lockport

A Niagara County Sheriff's deputy investigating a missing snowman from a Royal Parkway North residence in Lockport on Monday night was quickly able to identify a suspect — Mother Nature.

A 23-year-old woman called police about 11 p.m. Monday to report that someone had taken her decorative 4-foot snowman from her front lawn. The woman said another snowman was taken on Nov. 29 but was later found across the street in some bushes.

The deputy checked the area and found Monday's missing snowman in the yard of a neighbor.

The deputy said wind had blown the snowman down the street and informed the resident of the situation.
