The victim, a 47-year-old woman employed at the hospital, said a man entered the emergency room complaining of a swollen hand. The man reportedly identified himself and said he was staying at a local homeless shelter. He then, when no one was looking, reached over the counter and stole a purse and its contents, valued at $150.
