The victim, a 47-year-old woman employed at the hospital, said a man entered the emergency room complaining of a swollen hand. The man reportedly identified himself and said he was staying at a local homeless shelter. He then, when no one was looking, reached over the counter and stole a purse and its contents, valued at $150. The man was reportedly spotted running out of the hospital on surveillance footage leaving through the south exit and running south on 10th Street. Officers report unsuccessfully searching for the man at the homeless shelter.
