• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after police caught him in the act of burglarizing a home in the 1900 block of Whitney Avenue. Officers responded to that area for a call of a burglary in progress at 2:49 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they spotted a blue pick-up truck speeding away from the scene. Police chased the truck down the 1500 block alley south of Pierce Avenue until the driver of the pickup “threw the vehicle into park and fled on foot.” Officers chased the suspect and apprehended him in the 1500 block of LaSalle Avenue. Police said two washing machines, a dryer and stove were located in the bed of the pick-up truck. Calvin Vincent Gandy, 30, 1753 LaSalle Ave., was charged with second-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. unreasonable speed, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating an unregistered vehicle, using an altered or stolen license/registration, no inspection, no insurance and operating a vehicle with the driver’s view obstructed. Gandy was also charged on an outstanding arrest warrant for violation of a conditional discharge. One Falls officer was injured during the chase.

 
• INVESTIGATION: Officers are looking into the discovery of a handgun and ammunition in the 700 block of Eighth Street. A man told police he found the semi-automatic gun in his backyard at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Police found that the gun was loaded. The weapon had previously been reported as stolen.

 
• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after a domestic incident in the 2200 block of Cudaback Avenue at 4:31 a.m. Monday. Tracy Danielle Perry, 42, 2228 Cudaback Ave., was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.
