Falls police investigating mysterious wounds on uncooperative victim

Niagara Falls police got little help from the victim while investigating several punctures and lacerations found on his arm.

Officers said they were called to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center late Sunday night where they reported the wounds on the 62-year-old man's arms were suspicious.

The lacerations and punctures were on both his arms and appeared defensive in nature and not consistent with the man's story that he had accidentally cut himself while preparing chicken.

Officers talked to the man but he would not provide any information about the wounds.

An acquaintance told police she arrived at the victim's apartment and found him bleeding. She said no one else had been in the home and he had told her that he cut himself preparing chicken as well.

Police were given permission to enter the man's home and found blood throughout. Photographs were taken of the apartment.

A neighboring tenant said they heard no disturbances and told police the man lives alone and is quiet.

A detective is following up the investigation.
