LOCKPORT

Man accused of sexually abusing child

A city man is facing sex charges related to an incident involving a child.

Jeffrey M. Massaro, 34, 24 Eisenhower Drive, was charged Thursday morning with first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree sexual conduct against a child.

Lockport Police said the victim was a girl under the age of 11. The offense reportedly occurred sometime on Sept. 2 in the 500 block of South Transit Street.

No other information was available Thursday.

 

Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: Falls police were called to a Willow Street address on Wednesday where a resident reported 6 feet of copper piping was stolen from their garage. Suspects broke a window to enter the garage. The estimated loss is $110.

• THEFT: A resident on the 2200 block of Ontario Avenue reported to police that sometime Tuesday night someone entered their car through an unlocked rear hatch and took a $1,200 CD/DVD/GPS unit. A window of the car was also damaged.

• VANDALISM: A Ninth Street woman called police after finding her car vandalized Wednesday morning. Someone had covered the car's windows, doors, tires, roof, hood and trunk with black spray paint. The windshield was smashed and all sides of the car were keyed. "You are next" and an expletive were spray-painted on each side of the car as well. In addition, sugar was poured into the car's gas tank. The estimate loss is $2,000. The woman could not provide police with a suspect.

North Tonawanda

LARCENY: Chad S. Bowers, 40, 40 Lena Drive, Wheatfield, was charged at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday on Oliver Street with petit larceny and soliciting without a permit. He was held for court.
