Somerset man caught with pounds of marijuana

A visit by the Niagara County Child Protective Services led to the arrest of a Somerset man who reportedly had pounds of marijuana in his home.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office said Ralph D. Fuller, IV, 49, Lake Road, was charged Thursday with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class C felony, misdemeanor unlawful growing of cannabis and misdemeanor unlawful dealing with a child.

A sheriff's deputy was requested by Child Protective Services to assist in a home visit, but while trying to make contact the deputy noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence. The Niagara County Drug Task Force was contacted and a search warrant was received and executed.

Several pounds of processed and unprocessed marijuana was seized, the Sheriff's Office said.

Fuller was arraigned in Somerset Town Court and was released from Niagara County Jail on $2,000 bail. The investigation is continuing, the Sheriff's Office said.
