• ARREST: Two Falls men were arrested after they were caught trying to break into a home in the 800 block of Lincoln Place at 2:40 a.m. Monday. Robert Lawrence Shimmel, 31, 1805 South Ave. upper, and Kyle David Sullivan, 23, 1869 Linwood Ave., were each charged with attempted second-degree burglary, criminal possession of burglar tools and fourth-degree criminal mischief. A witness told police they saw the two men prying open the back door to a home. Police also recovered a duffle bag that contained a crowbar and a flashlight.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he admitted he stole a power drill from a maintenance cart at Wrobel Towers at 1 p.m. Monday. Bobby Joe Parmer, 51, 800 Niagara St., Apt. 206, was charged with petit larceny.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1500 block of Military Road at 8 p.m. Monday. Michael Richard Lauzau Jr., 35, 8416 West Rivershore Drive, was charged with petit larceny. Lauzau is accused of taking more than $69 worth of batteries and bicycle lights without paying for the items

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 500 block of 18th Street. A 49-year-old man told officers that sometime between 8:45 and 10 p.m. Monday someone broke into his garage by damaging an overhead door. The victim said a lawn mower and some speakers were taken.
