A Gasport man is facing charges after he was found wearing a Nicoderm CQ patch on Friday night while reporting for his weekend jail stay.

During a strip search of Steven A. Rathke, 55, 7015 Ridge Road, Gasport, about 7 p.m., a corrections officer found the patch on the bottom of Rathke's right foot. The patch was confiscated and a deputy was called in to place charges.

Rathke was charged with introducing contraband into prison.

According to a Buffalo News report, Rathke was sentenced to four weekends in jail in January after he was charged in January 2013 with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and methadone. He was also sentenced to three years probation and $1,450 in fines.

Rathke was also charged with felony DWI, tailgating and consuming alcohol inside a vehicle following an accident in Lockport in 2008.
