NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara Falls police were called to Memorial Medical Center about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for a man that was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left elbow.

The man said he had been walking in the area of the Highland Avenue bridge when he heard the sounds of someone fighting and then a van pulled up and he heard loud thunder/popping-type sounds that he originally thought was thunder but then realized were gunshots.

Hit in the left arm, the man said he walked home and had his father drive him to the hospital.

While interviewing the man, police said the man's clothes were dry, despite the fact it was raining outside, and he wasn't wearing a jacket. The man replied that he had just been out walking to nowhere in particular and it wasn't raining at the time.
