Drug suspect sought after escaping custody

Niagara Gazette — Niagara County Sheriff's investigators and other members of the U.S. Marshals Service Felony Fugitive Task Force are on a manhunt for a Falls escapee. 

They are looking for Adaberto Olivieri-Perez and they're public may be able to help them in their search.

Olivieri-Perez escaped from custody during an incident in the Falls Tuesday morning.

"A number of our (deputies) are assigned to the Marshal's Task Force and they were working in the Falls (Tuesday), cleaning up some warrants," Niagara County Undersheriff Michael Filicetti said. "They picked up (Olivieri-Perez) and he was placed in the back of a car."

Somehow, Olivieri-Perez was able to get out of the police vehicle and run from investigators. The escape touched off an immediate manhunt.

"We're still looking into the circumstances of how he got out," Filicetti said. "But we are looking for him.

Olivieri-Perez, 23, is wanted on a felony drug warrant. He is described as an Hispanic male, 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with brown hair and eyes. 

Deputies briefly stopped a man who was seen driving Olivieri-Perez's car on Saunder's Settlement Road Tuesday afternoon. After being removed from the car at gunpoint, it was determined he was not the suspect and was released.
