BLOTTER: Police reports published Nov. 29

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A North Tonawanda man was arrested following a reported traffic stop at 2:40 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of First Street and Rainbow Boulevard. Cory Gentzke, 20, 5503 Tonawanda Creek Road, North Tonawanda, was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, failing to signal a turn and driving at an unreasonable speed after police, patrolling for erratic drivers, say he made a right hand turn from Third Street onto Rainbow Boulevard and was driving fast for road conditions. Police report he failed two of four administered field sobriety tests and a alcohol sensor test showed positive for the drug. He refused multiple times to take a chemical test, deferring to speak to an attorney before taking the test, the report said.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday from a residence in the 400 block of Fifth Street. The victim, a 49-year-old man, told police someone smashed his rear window. Upon investigating, the report said, the inside was in disarray. The victim said two televisions, two DVD players and tools were missing. Police said a piece of a latex glove and a partially consumed iced tea were located at the scene. With damages, the total loss was estimated to be $2,310.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of Walnut Avenue. The victim, a 71-year-old man, said someone entered his home by damaging his door and took a tablet computer belonging to his niece from a nightstand. He said $120 cash was also taken from a drawer near the computer’s last known location. Police report footprints in the snow led to a neighbor’s back door.
