— Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1000 block of Pine Avenue at 4:46 p.m. Monday. A store security officer told police he saw three suspects stealing DVDs and was able to stop one of them as they fled from the business. Walter J. Hillcock, 23, 1901 Falls St., Apt. 4, was charged with petit larceny. Hillcock is accused of taking eight Wii games without paying for them.

 
• VANDALISM: Police are investigating an act of vandalism in the 700 block of 17th Street. A 20-year-old man told officers that three male suspects tried to engage him in a fight at 8:15 p.m. Monday. After the victim refused to fight, he said he heard what sound liked three shots from a BB gun and heard “smashing noises.” When he went outside, the victim said he found the rear passenger side window of his 1997 Chevy Blazer had been smashed out.

• GRAND LARCENY: A Dale Road man reported the theft of a Winchester Super Short rifle which was taken from his home. The rifle, bipod and scope were valued at $1,330.
