Man suffering medical condition crashes car in Lockport

A 70-year-old man was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center after he drove his car off of South Transit Road and crashed while apparently suffering a medical emergency Wednesday morning.

New York State Police say about the Amherst man was north on S. Transit Road about 8:50 a.m. when he drifted off the roadway, hit a culvert pipe and went airborne, landing in a southerly direction. Troopers said the man was apparently suffering an unnamed medical condition before the crash.

The man was flown by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Troopers said no charges will be filed in the crash.
