BLOTTER: Police reports published June 5

Students suspended for pepper spray

Two Lockport High School students were charged with possession of a noxious material and suspended from school for five days after pepper spray was used in a classroom Wednesday afternoon, Lockport police said.

According to police, a teacher in the high school reported that someone had sprayed something in the air in the class that made the teacher and students in the class cough. A student involved with the incident but who was not charged admitted spraying the spray, but said the student in possession of the spray told him it was cologne.

The student with the spray said that he received it from another student in exchange for a pair of headphones. Both students were charged, and are due in Lockport City Court on June 9.
