• ARREST: A Buffalo man was arrested after he was caught trying to sell fake jewelry to passers-by. William Charles Matthews, 55, of Seneca St., was charged with fraudulent accosting/con game. Matthews was stopped by police at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, in the 600 block of Main Street, after officers saw him leaning into cars with gold necklaces in his hands. A female driver told officers that Matthews had approached her car and asked her if she wanted to buy some gold necklaces for a cheap price. When officers questioned Matthews, he told them, “It’s just fools gold, man. I told her it was real gold. I tried selling it to her because I’m out here trying to make a living. I got that (stuff) from a five and dime store in Buffalo,”
• VANDALISM: Officers are looking for suspects in a vandalism incident in the 200 block of Hyde Park Boulevard. An auto shop owner told police that sometime between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday someone spray-painted graffiti on two cars in his lot.
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a domestic violence incident on Willow Avenue at 12:07 a.m. Thursday. Justin Obbada Gabby, 25, of Willow Ave., was charged with second-degree criminal contempt.
• THEFT: Police are investigating a truck break-in on Rainbow Boulevard. A 19-year-old woman told officers that sometime between 1 and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into her 2001 Chevy Tahoe by unknown means. The victim said her purse was taken.
