Falls man arrested in Ransomville ATV case

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday the arrest of a man taken into custody on Wednesday in Ransomville after he was found near a stolen ATV.

Rashon T.J. Tabb, 24, of Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and trespassing.

Deputies responding to a suspicious vehicle call found an unoccupied white cube van on Academy Street and while they were checking it out, Tabb walked out of some nearby woods and claimed ownership of the van.

Tabb gave different accounts of why he was in the area. Deputies checked the area of the woods he had walked from and found an ATV parked there.

While investigating the matter, deputies spoke with a woman on Ransomville Road and it was determined the ATV had been taken from that property. She added that a dirt bike had been taken from the property two weeks ago.
