BLOTTER: Police reports published July 8

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he tried to assault another man with a baseball bat. Cameron A. Paul, 19, 1174 Haeberle Ave. Apt. 1, was charged with second-degree menacing. A 43-year-old man told police he was having an argument with another man, in the 1100 block of Haeberle Avenue at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, when Paul approached him, brandishing a baseball bat, and said, "I'm going to knock your head off." The victim said Paul then swung the bat at him twice, but did not hit him.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1300 block of 22nd Street. A 29-year-old man told officers that sometime before 2:16 a.m. Sunday someone broke into his home through a window. The victim said a computer, a TV and a PlayStation game system were taken.

• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after she created a disturbance in the 1100 block of Niagara Avenue. Patti Ann Hockenberry, 37, 1113 Niagara Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct. Police found Hockenberry standing in the front yard of a home at 2:11 a.m., Sunday, yelling and swearing. When officers asked her to "quiet down" she said, "(Expletive) you, you cracker (expletive) mother (expletive)."

• THEFT: Police are investigating a reported theft between 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday from a residence in the 400 block of Fifth Street. The victim, a 21-year-old man, said he was leaving his residence and walked around the corner when he saw his friend across the street. He said they waved to each other but later he realized his friend was acting suspicious. As he turned back, he said his friend was running north on Fifth Street away from his house. He said he checked his residence and noticed his $550 laptop computer missing. He said he was unable to tell if his friend was running with the computer or not.
