Lockport car dealership reports tires stolen from cars on lot

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to a South Transit Road car dealership Monday morning for a report of tires and wheels taken from cars on the lot.

An employee told deputies four tires and wheels worth about $2,673 were taken off two Honda Accords in the dealership lot. The theft occurred sometime over the weekend, the employee reported.

Deputies said one of the Accords was missing both passenger-side tires and wheels and was propped up on cinder blocks. Right next to it was the second Accord, missing both driver-side tires and wheels. Twenty lug nuts scattered around  the area were taken as evidence.

The sheriffs Criminal Investigation Bureau is looking into the matter.
