• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a traffic stop at 3:08 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Main Street. Weston Hilts, 22, 2942 McKoon Ave., was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and two counts of failure to signal after police report observing a vehicle pull into a gas station, wait two to three minutes without exiting the vehicle, then pull back out onto the road. Officers said the driver, later identified as Hilts, pulled into another gas station that was closed. Officers said Hilts displayed indicators of being intoxicated and asked him to perform four field sobriety tests, failing two. An alcohol sensor test was reportedly used, detecting its presence. A later test taken after he was taken into custody reportedly showed his blood alcohol content to be 0.18 percent.
• ASSAULT: Police are investigating a reported assault at 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Niagara Avenue. The victim, a 22-year-old man, said he was at a house party with some friends when, while walking to a vehicle to leave, was stopped by a group of men. He said he was struck, causing a laceration above his left eye. Police said they documented the injury during treatment at a nearby emergency room.
• ASSAULT: Police are investigating a reported assault at 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Highland Avenue. The victim, a 41-year-old man, said he was at a drinking establishment and left the building when four men attacked him, causing scratches to his head and a laceration above his left eye. He told police he had no conflicts with anyone at the establishment and was not robbed during the incident. Police report the victim was highly intoxicated during the interview and reportedly had trouble remaining awake during the conversation.
