BLOTTER: Police reports published March 11

Woman's death doesn't appear suspicious

There are no signs of foul play in the death of a 37-year-old city woman last week, according to the Lockport Police Department.

The woman died at 290 Niagara St. on March 7. Her name has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.

Police Chief Larry Eggert said an autopsy was to be done Monday. Authorities are waiting for the results of that procedure, as well as toxicology reports, which are needed to determine the cause of death, Eggert said.

There was an arrest related to the woman's death.

Roman Nelson, 56, 290 Niagara St., was charged early Saturday with giving a false statement in connection with the investigation, a misdemeanor charge. The nature of Nelson's statement was not disclosed.
